take up space

We do that so often you and I.
We forget our place in the space of things.
We operate in smallness and scarcity.
When really, we hold in our little fingers the power to invent a thing that never before existed.
To be a person unlike any other.
To listen, to learn, to collaborate.

It’s tempting, I know, to see my bigness, my divine power and to feel threatened.
To feel like if I occupy this space that there’s not enough room for you too.
But space, invention, divinity is not divisible.
It only multiplies when we meet each other whole heartedly. Celebrating each other’s victories.
Arguing out ideas and ideals without taking it as a personal attack.
To be confident enough in our own selves to make room for all our potential to expand and grow.

And why feel threatened by me?
I’m a fragile, broken, mortal human, just like you.

Trust me when I say this.
I mean it so sincerely.

I see you.
I love you.
We got this.
